First of all, it has been a really rough couple of months for some of us this year. But we are glad that many others got their firsts. First job, first baby, first real relationship, first million and even first billion.
So, down to our topic of the day. Have you ever worked in a company where your approval for your annual leave depends on your production for the month? Or maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be, but shouldn’t staff be entitled to a week or two weeks leave for the year, whether you’re performing or not?
These are the kinds of treatments we have normalized in our workplaces. Subtle infringement on the rights of employees doesn’t make you a better HR Manager than the one who doesn’t. If you have an employee who has not performed well during their probation period, please find other way to assist them, in stead of employing staff and then denying them o certain rights they have. Humans not Robots please!
Tell us about a time when you were denied a certain right or privilege as an employee because you weren’t performing or meeting stipulated targets.
